Refractory Fiber Paper

Advanced ceramic is a high-tech material that appeared in recent years and quickly took up a significant place in the modern material technology world. Generally speaking, advanced ceramic fiber is a kind of improved ceramics with better resistance to temperature, magnetic force and electricity. Advanced ceramic fiber, being largely different from traditional ceramics which consist mainly of silicon and aluminum, can be made up of various materials. In the following passage, the producing process as well as the manufacturing material of advanced ceramics will be introduced.

Alumina has high melting point and boiling point, high hardness, insulator at room temperature and conductivity at high temperature. Alumina has been used as refractory for melting glass and steel since the 1920s. Zirconia ceramics are widely used in structural ceramics because of their high toughness, flexural strength, wear resistance, excellent thermal insulation and even their thermal expansion coefficient close to metal. In this paper, the important properties and mechanism of zirconia ceramics and its application in various fields are introduced.
