The temperature should meet the requirements.

Cordierite, cordierite mullite, common silicon carbide, the safe use temperature is below 1250; The safe use temperature is below 1350; Silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide, mullite, silicon oxynitride combined with silicon carbide, below 1500 is the safe use temperature; It is safe to use the recrystallized silicon carbide below 1650.

 

Select according to the material characteristics

Cordierite can be used for parts with little or no bending stress. Mullite and ordinary silicon carbide are generally used as supporting parts. Generally, cordierite mullite, oxide bonded silicon carbide, silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide, silicon oxynitride bonded silicon carbide, etc. can be used for shed plate and base plate. The structural parts with large bending stress should generally use reaction sintered silicon carbide, recrystallized silicon carbide and silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide kiln furniture materials.

 

Material performance requirements

Bending resistance. Because the kiln furniture materials are mainly used in the shed structure to bear bending load, the creep property under bending load at high temperature should be as small as possible.

l Thermal shock resistance. Because of the temperature difference of kiln furniture materials during heating and cooling, the thermal shock resistance should be as high as possible. Generally speaking, the coefficient of thermal expansion should be as low as possible, and there should be no sudden change in the coefficient of thermal expansion during heating.

l Mechanical strength. Kiln furniture is easy to be damaged during transportation and normal operation, so the mechanical strength of kiln furniture materials must be able to bear the required load. When the shed plate is used in the pusher kiln, the wear resistance related to the mechanical strength should be appropriately high. However, the mechanical strength should not be increased excessively, because, at the same time, its thermal shock resistance will be weakened.

l Regularity. The shape and size of kiln furniture products must be accurate, and deformation should be prevented as much as possible when firing products.

l Cleanliness. In some cases, when the porcelain is placed directly on the kiln furniture, it should not pollute the porcelain. Usually refers to the iron oxide composition (or other coloring matter) should be low and well dispersed.

 

Kiln furniture is the production of individual parts used in the heating process, such as ceramic or metal parts. The kiln furniture carries the burden to ensure that the components will not deform and adhere to each other. Kiln furniture plays an important role in the thermal management of kiln.
