YUFENGREC® Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide (NbSiC) is designed for exceptional wear resistance and can be formed into very intricate and precise shapes with the YUFENG unique process. It has desirable refractory and chemical properties, and can also exhibit exceptional wear and thermal shock resistance.
Maximum service temperature is 1,450°C, and especially suitable at the long time firing between 1,200~1,450°C range. N-SiC is made by SiC bonded by Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) chemically stable, suitable to apply firing products need to avoid oxidation reaction.
It is a class higher SiC refractory compare to Oxide Bonded SiC, in terms of oxidation resistance, thermal shock resistance and strength. Used as plate, beam and for refractory for molten aluminum etc.
Take advantage of the material's excellent stability and mechanical strength, Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide (NbSiC) can be used in a range of process furnaces and kilns such as the side walls of aluminum melting pots, the lower stack of blast furnaces, and as kiln furniture.
Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide (NbSiC) is commonly found as a cast refractory for use under severe service conditions in place of alloys or other refractory materials. Near net shapes can be designed to reproduce the metal parts. The high hardness and abrasion resistance of the material means that components should be designed to avoid grinding or other finishing operations.
Applications of cast refractories exploit the physical and chemical properties of the material and the ability to form the material into complex shapes.
