Engineered for the most demanding thermal environments, YUFENGREC® Synthetic Cordierite is manufactured through a highly controlled wet-milling and extruding process. Unlike dry-processed alternatives, our wet-milling technique ensures an exceptionally intimate blending of the raw precursor materials. This slurry is then extruded into dense shapes before undergoing rigorous high-temperature calcination. A critical step in our production is the advanced iron removal process, which guarantees a remarkably pure, pale granular structure. When inspected, the material exhibits a completely homogeneous composition, entirely free of impurities, fluxing agents, or visual black spots that could compromise performance.
The defining characteristic of this synthetic cordierite is its extraordinary thermal stability. It possesses an extremely low thermal expansion coefficient paired with outstanding thermal shock resistance. In industrial applications where kiln furniture is subjected to rapid, punishing cycles of heating and cooling, this material actively resists internal stress accumulation. This prevents catastrophic cracking, surface spalling, and long-term creep deformation under continuous heavy loads. Furthermore, it demonstrates exceptional chemical stability even when exposed to harsh, high-temperature reducing atmospheres. Because it remains chemically inert and resists oxidation-reduction reactions, it will never outgas or transfer contaminants to the sensitive ceramics or precision cast components being fired.
Granular Specifications: Available in standard particle size distributions, including 0-1mm, 1-3mm, and 3-5mm aggregates, alongside fine 200-mesh powders. We also specialize in customized aggregate sizing to precisely match specific refractory brick formulations and ceramic forming processes.
Kiln Furniture Manufacturing: Serves as the primary structural foundation for premium kiln furniture, including heavy-duty batts, pusher plates, and saggars.
Advanced Ceramics: Widely utilized in the production of intricate honeycomb ceramics for emission control systems and heat exchange media.
Industrial Furnaces: Applied extensively in the fabrication of durable kiln car bricks and specialized refractory linings.
YUFENGREC® Low Al2O3 Mullite is synthesized from carefully sourced natural minerals, undergoing a meticulous process of homogeneous mixing followed by extended, controlled calcination at extreme temperatures. The physical structure of this material is defined by a highly dense, interlocking matrix of needle-like mullite crystals firmly embedded within a complex SiO2 glass phase. This specific microstructural arrangement—where the mullite needles act as a reinforcing microscopic skeleton—delivers superior mechanical strength and structural integrity. It makes the aggregate highly resistant to physical abrasion, mechanical impact, and severe thermal stress.
This low-alumina mullite variant is specifically engineered to serve as a robust, stable aggregate in complex refractory systems. Its excellent physical properties are matched by strong chemical resistance against corrosive slags, alkali vapors, and reactive atmospheric gases frequently encountered in industrial kilns. The embedded glass phase helps to accommodate localized thermal expansion, while the crystalline network significantly enhances the load-bearing capacity and hot modulus of rupture of the final shaped products at elevated temperatures.
Mullite-Cordierite Composites: Acts as the ideal aggregate base for producing composite kiln furniture. By combining the thermal shock resistance of cordierite with the mechanical load capacity of mullite, manufacturers can produce thinner, lighter, yet stronger kiln batts.
Investment Casting: Heavily utilized in creating highly stable precision casting shells and models. It ensures accurate dimensional tolerances, smooth surface finishes, and prevents shell cracking during the pouring of molten metals.
Heavy-Duty Refractories: Incorporated into the manufacturing of dense, heavy-duty refractory bricks for glass melting furnaces and metallurgical vessels.
